Marriage Licences

All marriages in Ontario require a valid Marriage Licence before the ceremony can take place. You can obtain your licence through the Municipality of North Middlesex either online, or in person.

The current fee for a marriage licence is $125.00, or as amended from time to time in accordance with the Municipality’s Fees and Charges By-law. The fee is payable by cash or debit at the municipal office located at 229 Parkhill Main St, Parkhill.

Apply Online

Complete and submit your application through the Service Ontario portal HERE. Click the “Start Application” button and select “Municipality of North Middlesex” as the location.

Once your application is submitted, you will receive a confirmation email with a link to book an appointment to pick up your marriage licence at the municipal office. Please book your appointment a minimum of 1 business day after your submission.

Any required supporting documentation for your application should be brought to the appointment for review. Please speak to staff to confirm what you need to bring to your appointment if you are unsure.

Apply In-Person

Marriage licences may also be obtained by attending the municipal office in person. Walk-ins are welcome, but to ensure your application can be processed in a timely manner, an appointment is strongly recommended. You can schedule an appointment in advance by contacting the Customer Service and Licensing Clerk at 519-294-6244 ext. 3222.

Only one of the applicants is required to attend; however, the person in attendance will need to bring the completed marriage licence application form signed by both applicants.

The in-person application process will take approximately 30 minutes. Two (2) original pieces of government-issued identification for each applicant must be provided at the appointment. If applicable, any supporting documentation is also required.
