Backwater Valve Installation and Sump Pump Disconnection Grant Program

Backwater Valve Installation and Sump Pump Disconnection Grant Programs are now available in North Middlesex. These programs help homeowners protect their properties from sewer backups by providing financial support to install backwater valves or disconnect sump pumps from Municipal sewer systems.

Sump Pump Disconnection Grant Program

This program encourages North Middlesex residents to disconnect sump pumps and other direct sources of rainwater from both the sanitary and storm sewer systems. Redirecting rainwater away from these systems helps reduce the risk of sewer backups, environmental discharges, and the costs associated with pumping and treatment. It also improves the overall performance of the sewer systems, helping them function as originally designed.

Homeowners in North Middlesex who disconnect their sump pump from municipal sewer systems may qualify for a grant covering 100% of eligible costs, up to $2,500. This includes costs invoiced by an approved contractor and any required permit fees.

To receive the full subsidy, the work must be completed by an authorized contractor, and all possible downspouts must also be disconnected from the sewer system. Full eligibility details and program requirements are outlined in the Backwater Valve Installation and Sump Pump Disconnection Grant Program Application | North Middlesex

Backwater Valve Installation Grant Program

As part of our efforts to protect homes in North Middlesex, this program encourages residents to install a backwater valve on their existing sanitary sewer connections. A backwater valve helps prevent sewage from backing up into your home during heavy rainfall or sewer system overloads.

North Middlesex homeowners who install a backwater valve inside their home may be eligible for a grant covering 100% of eligible costs, up to $2,500. This includes contractor invoices and any applicable permit fees.

To qualify for the full subsidy, the backwater valve must be installed indoors, and the property must not have any downspouts or weeping tile/foundation drains connected to the sanitary sewer system.

Full program details and eligibility requirements are available in the Backwater Valve Installation and Sump Pump Disconnection Grant Program Application | North Middlesex
