North Middlesex Joins the Southwestern Ontario Marketing Alliance

Southwestern Ontario Marketing Alliance (SOMA)

The Municipality of North Middlesex recently committed to annual membership in the Southwestern Ontario Marketing Alliance (SOMA). The Southwestern Ontario Marketing Alliance is one of the longest established regional marketing organizations in the Province of Ontario which caters to the needs of small and mid-size municipalities seeking foreign direct investment opportunities. Due to its long running history and consistent programming the SOMA Brand has become well known in international investment circles. Current members of SOMA include Ingersoll, North Middlesex, Stratford, St. Thomas, Tillsonburg, Woodstock and the County of Perth.

Southwestern Ontario Marketing Alliance (SOMA)

The Southwestern Ontario Marketing Alliance (SOMA), is a partnership of Southwestern Ontario communities, grown out of natural economic ties. This region, known as Canada's Industrial Heartland, encompasses the municipalities of Ingersoll, Perth, Stratford, St. Thomas, North Middlesex, Tillsonburg, and Woodstock. It stretches across Elgin, Middlesex, Oxford and Perth counties.

SOMA works with all levels of government and the private sector to promote the advantages of locating within the region. SOMA and its partners offer a number of services to companies looking to grow within the region.

Communities Involved

Canada's Industrial Heartland encompasses the municipalities of Ingersoll, North Middlesex, Perth County, Stratford, St. Thomas, Tillsonburg and Woodstock and stretches across Elgin, Oxford and Perth counties. SOMA is in the center of the Southwestern Ontario peninsula, in the midst of one of the most robust economies in North America. A rich manufacturing and agricultural belt between the shores of Lake Huron, Lake Ontario and Lake Erie, SOMA forms a natural economic region. Its three counties and six municipalities share a large workforce and a global vision for growth.
