Departments

Administration

The Administration Department includes the Clerks Office . The Municipal Clerk is Commissioner for Oaths.

The Administration Department is responsible for preparing council agendas and scheduling delegations for council meetings. 

The Administration Department also maintains the record management system for the municipality which includes by-laws, policies and minutes. This department is responsible for maintaining the records of the active cemeteries operated by the municipality. This includes the sale of plots at these cemeteries as well as ensuring the rules and regulations are adhered to. Lottery and Marriage Licences are also issued through this department. It is highly recommended that you contact the municipal office prior to filling out any applications to ensure you have all the required information prior to attending the office in person. It is highly recommended you make an appointment for the issuance of marriage licences to ensure staff are available to issue them.

Building

Chief Building Official, Vic Stellingwerff, is available Monday to Thursday. If you are requesting his assistance please make arrangements during this time. He can be reached at the Municipal Office at 519-294-6244 ext. 229

By-Law

The Municipality's Municipal Valuers are the By-Law Enforcement Officers. Please contact the Municipal Office to report a claim at 519-294-6244.

 Economic Development

Our Economic Development Department is available to serve you and your business.  The department offers business expansion and retention services, investment attraction, tourism development and marketing for North Middlesex businesses.  Contact Justin Dias at 519-294-6244 ext.220

Finance

The Finance department's primary responsibility is to maintain the financial health of the Municipality of North Middlesex. We perform several finance related tasks, including but not limited to:
  • Budget preparation and analysis
  • Cost analysis
  • Property tax calculations and collections
  • Revenue collection
  • Tangible capital asset accounting
  • Accounts payable and receivable functions
  • Payroll for the Township
  • Legislated federal and provincial government reporting

Fire

The North Middlesex Fire Department is served by a volunteer fire department consisting of 50 dedicated volunteers, with fire stations located in both Ailsa Craig and Parkhill as well as one area covered by a Fire Protection Agreement with the Lucan-Biddulph Fire Department.

As of December 1, 2014, William Davidson has been appointed as the Director Emergency and Safety Services / Fire Chief for North Middlesex. Scott Jones is the District Fire Chief for the Ailsa Craig Station and Greg Vandenheuval is the District Fire Chief for the Parkhill Station.

Planning

Municipal Planning Services are provided through the County of Middlesex Planning Department.
You can reach Christie Basalle, Planner, at the county offices during normal business hours (Monday to Friday 8:30am to 4:30pm) at 519-434-7321 ext 2349. Appointments should be made directly with the Planner for consultation meetings and to submit planning applications.

Recreation

North Middlesex offers an Arena and Fitness Centre, 3 Community Centres, 6 Baseball Diamonds, 5 Soccer Fields, 7 Picnic Shelters, 2 Tennis Courts, 1 Road Hockey Court, 5 Playgrounds, 1 Splash Park and 1 Skateboard Park.

To book recreational facilities or parks in North Middlesex, you may call the Recreation Department at 519-294-0082 or the Main Office at 519-294-6244.

(*Please note that all facility rentals in North Middlesex are subject to HST.)

The office will be Closed for lunch each weekday from 12:30 - 1:30 p.m.

  • Vehicle Transactions - vehicle licensing, renewals, UVIP Packages, address changes
  • Driver Transactions - renewals, address changes, CVOR Abstracts, Driver Abstracts, and Driver History Abstract
  • Health Card Transactions - renewal, conversion from Red and White card to new green card, and address changes.
  • Ontario Photo Card - to apply for identification.
