MUNICIPALITY OF NORTH MIDDLESEX

BY-LAW # 28 OF 2006

A BY-LAW TO PROVIDE FOR THE FEE TO BE CHARGED FOR HOOKING TO THE WATERLINE

WHEREAS a Municipality may pass by-laws imposing fees or charges on any class of persons for services or activities provided or done by or on behalf of it; for costs payable by it for services or activities provided or done by or on behalf of any other municipality, and for the use of its property including property under its control, according to Section 390 (1) of the Municipal Act 2003

AND WHEREAS utilities are considered a user pay service and such service is paid for by the user;

AND WHEREAS the estimated cost to connect an average water service in North Middlesex has been calculated;

BE IT RESOLVED that the cost to connect to the waterline is:

i) to a property that the utility line passes $7,000

AND BE IT FURTHER RESOLVED that the rate be increased by approximately 3% each year as shown on Schedule “A” attached to this by-law;

This By-law shall repeal the connection by-laws of any of the former municipalities in North Middlesex upon final reading of the by-law.
