PROCEDURE FOR DELEGATION STATUS AT COUNCIL MEETING
- Person's requesting to appear before Council must submit to the CAO or Clerk, in writing, the request to appear and the outline of the nature of the topic to be spoken. Once a meeting date has been established, the presentation for the agenda must be received no later than noon on Wednesday prior to the Council meeting at which they are to appear. If you do not formally receive notification confirming your attendance at a council meeting please contact the Clerk immediately. It is strongly suggested that a hard copy request be submitted to the municipality to ensure it is date stamped and received..
- Persons who are allowed to address Council shall be limited in speaking for not more than 15 minutes, and a deputation shall be limited to one speaker representing a group with the same interest in the matter.
** Upon receipt of the request to attend council, every attempt will be made to accommodate the person at the requested meeting, however, an alternative meeting may have to be suggested depending on the volume of business on the agenda**
"PLEASE NOTE: If you are submitting correspondence to Council, or any committee of Council, your name will be included on the agenda, and published on the Municipality's website if it is correspondence for an open session of Council. Your name will form part of the minutes for the meeting. Your address may also be included if necessary to identify the issue to be considered by Council."
